There have been textile ups and down's in 2012, I'll gloss over the downs and concentrate on the ups for now....
This 'was' a lovely and inspiring exhibition in the crafting metropolis that is Milton Keynes, I went to the opening evening and was blown away with the collection of textile greats and inspirational delights. Fully intending to blog and report much sooner, I have failed too, so sorry if you missed it. But on a good note, I filled in the photographers permission form and took some pics for your delight and deliberation:
The next City & Guilds course will be a full Certificate spread over one academic year. A more gentle introduction to creative design and colour together with the usual block of textile techniques and then a block of embroidery designing. Suitable for beginners with an interested in creative textiles.
I'm also hoping to run less formal courses for 10 weeks at a time. Be inspired and look at your identity as a person. This would be suitable for a beginner or experienced student. You can make an Art cloth or Art quilt.
October will also be a month for textiles at the Central Milton Keynes library! Bringing together students work over the last 4 years into an exciting exhibition and small workshops. Do get in contact with me if you are interested!
